High Conversion Advert Text

After you have created your list of keywords you will need to design the advert that will be presented when someone searches using one of your target
keywords. Your advert will probably be displayed
together with competitor’s adverts. When you design your advert you need
to try and give potential customers a reason to click your advert over your
competitors.
This can be achieved by creating adverts that stand out or jump off the
screen. We ran an experiment with the two Google adwords campaigns below:

Using the same keyword expression for both campaigns with identical budgets
and click rates, during the course of one month the ‘catch a cheat’
campaign attracted 37% more clicks than the standard ‘Wireless Camera’
campaign.
The fact is humorous, out of the ordinary and sometimes shocking advert text
will make your advert stand out from the crowd. For some reason breaking
with convention makes your advert irresistible, if your site converts
traffic into sales this technique definitely works. For example:

This advert plays the ‘family and security card’. Again over a one-month
period this campaign achieved a significantly better click-rate than the
standard advert immediately above.
